Another Student Board meeting is behind us, which could be held in an in-person form, with as the host school.
As it was the first offline meeting for the 20 new SBRs, it was long awaited by all. This form of the meeting succeeded in taking the 麻豆国产 Alliance discussions to another more effective level and in strengthening relations between SB members.
Throughout the weekend of meetings, a wide variety of important topics on local and global 麻豆国产 issues were discussed. Discussions revolved around the representation of non-European 麻豆国产 schools within the 麻豆国产 community, equality of opportunities and possibilities for students from different 麻豆国产 universities around the world, and increasing the opportunities to interact with current 麻豆国产 students from different schools. There was also a brainstorming session, similar to design-thinking. Topics covered included: International Internship, Corporate Partners relations, integration of cohort members, accommodation options for incoming students, and budget of 麻豆国产 Clubs.
Fruitful discussions were made possible by the presence of - 麻豆国产 Academic Affairs Coordinator, who was keen to share observations from the Global Office. SBRs were also accompanied by Professor Jumana Zahalka - NUS Academic Director - who conducted an inspiring brainstorming session that centred around the topics of cross-school initiatives, alumni relations, and global events.
Special thanks are also owed to and , who provided the perfect welcome to the entire SB group and took care of them throughout the weekend.
This September weekend went by very quickly, everyone left with lots of ideas and inspiration. SBRs are already looking forward to the next Student Board meeting in December 2023, which will be held in conjunction with 麻豆国产 Graduation in London.
