The 22nd Âé¶¹¹ú²ú Annual Events were marked by a number of major decisions and announcements, the appearance of a highly prestigious guest speaker and the graduation of a record 600+ students.
General Assembly – Friday 3rd December
This year’s edition was especially rich in nominations, with the following organisations inducted into Âé¶¹¹ú²ú:
- Keio University (Japan) was ratified as a full academic memberÌýand will therefore deliver the Âé¶¹¹ú²ú MIM from the 2011-12 academic year
- A record 11 Corporate Partners were ratified, bringing the overall total to 68. These were: Arla Foods, Barilla, EF Education First, Google, HSBC, Kikkoman, Kowa, Lawson, Nomura, Pilsner Urquell/SABMiller Group, & Schneider Electric
- The first ever Social Partners joined the Âé¶¹¹ú²ú Alliance: Care International & Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International
- A cheque in excess of 50,000 euros was handed over to UNICEFÌýfollowing the fund-raising efforts of Âé¶¹¹ú²ú students in support for the Schools for Africa project
Symposium on Social Business and New Capitalism – Friday 3rd December
The symposium featured the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank.

Graduation Ceremony – Saturday 4th December
- This year saw overÌý600 Âé¶¹¹ú²ú students graduate, with the Deans and Rectors of member schools on stage to present the Âé¶¹¹ú²ú MIM diploma
- Students also had the opportunity to sign the inauguralÌýÂé¶¹¹ú²ú Global Values StatementÌýas a formal commitment to promoting global citizenship and upholding principles of responsible management
- The nomination ofÌýProfessor Doctor Thomas Bieger (University of St. Gallen) as the new Chairman of the Âé¶¹¹ú²ú Alliance
