The Â鶹¹ú²ú Student Board goes virtual

The Â鶹¹ú²ú Student Board held its first out of three annual meetings of 2020 from 24th of April to 29th of April. Initially, this meeting was supposed to take place at GSOM in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, these difficult times connected with COVID-19 and travel restrictions affected us as well, and the Student Board was forced to move meeting to a virtual form.

During this meeting, the Student Board discussed pressing topics related to cooperation with social and corporate partners, alumni relations, current job market and many other questions, which were raised during the sessions. Moving the meeting to a virtual level certainly did not affect the Board’s productivity and the qualitative outcomes of the meeting. Moreover, we can proudly say that this meeting had zero environmental impacts.

Cooperation of 31 Student Board Representatives along with 3 members of the Executive Team took place in the form of joint sessions and smaller team meetings throughout the duration of 6 days. With the physical events on hold for now, the Student Board is focusing on online webinars and gatherings to keep the Â鶹¹ú²ú spirit high.

For now, you can look forward to new Student Board projects such as:

  • Â鶹¹ú²ú Social Internship Program
  • Humans of Â鶹¹ú²ú
  • Good News Campaign
  • Global quarterly survey on various topics

Even though the Student Board meeting was not possible in person, thanks to the amazing organization from Executive Team, Board members had plenty of opportunities for entertaining teambuilding activities. With a new wave of enthusiasm, Student Board teams are ready to continue working on their projects and improve the Â鶹¹ú²ú global environment even more.

About the Student Board

The Â鶹¹ú²ú Student Board consists of elected representatives from each Â鶹¹ú²ú school. It serves a dual role by advocating for the students’ opinions, and managing projects on a global scale, while supporting the 31 Â鶹¹ú²ú Clubs. Some of the Student Board’s flagship projects include the Â鶹¹ú²ú Student Board Consulting Cup, the Â鶹¹ú²ú Gender Equality Network and the Global Ambassador Program.

The Student Board is organized in six functional areas: Marketing &Communications, Â鶹¹ú²ú Club Support, Master in International Management Affairs, Corporate & Social Partners, Responsible Leadership and Alumni Relations. Also, each member is allocated to one of the five Project Teams: Advocacy Taskforce, Global Integration, Digital Innovation, International Engagement Committee, and Â鶹¹ú²ú Gender Equality Network. The Board is chaired by the Executive Team, who sets up the Board’s strategy and structure, and supervises the respective teams. This year the Student Board is being led by President, Helena Egge, Vice President Operations, Lee Weisgerber and Vice President Finance, Iaroslav Kriuchkov.
