From �鶹�� Alumnus to Global CEO: Ola Källenius Returns to St. Gallen filliong Mon, 03/16/2026 - 13:36 On Friday, March 13, the �鶹�� community at the University of St. Gallen welcomed back a distinguished guest: Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz and �鶹�� alumnus. News

More than three decades after his time as a �鶹�� student, Källenius (SSE/ HSG - 1993) returned to campus as one of the most influential leaders in the global automotive industry. His visit marked a meaningful full-circle moment for the community, highlighting the lasting ties between �鶹��, University of St. Gallen and their global network of alumni – as well as the long-standing partnership between �鶹�� and Mercedes-Benz as a Corporate Partner.

Tackling a Real Executive Challenge

One of the highlights of the day was the skill seminar titled “Mercedes-Benz Case Study: Tackle a Real Executive Challenge and Pitch Your Solution to the Management.”

The session involved student teams analysing a real-world business case and crafting strategic solutions, which they then pitched directly to Ola Källenius. As one participant reflected, the experience meant “getting real-world insights and getting challenged by our ideas.” The workshop had been specially designed for the occasion by the Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting team, whose consultants accompanied the student groups throughout their preparation and supported them in refining their ideas ahead of the final pitches.

Beyond the academic exercise, what stood out for many students was the tone of the exchange with the CEO. One attendee highlighted that “the best part was that Ola was really down to earth and really met us on eye level.” This created an environment where discussion felt open, constructive, and genuinely engaging.

The interaction also carried a symbolic dimension. Källenius once studied in the same institution, something that resonated strongly with participants. As one student noted, it was inspiring to see “how he was sitting in the same university we are now and made it to the top with honesty and hard work.” For many, presenting their ideas and receiving direct feedback from someone who had once been in their position made the experience particularly memorable.

Perspectives on Strategic Transformation

Later in the day, a panel discussion titled “Pioneering Transformation in Challenging Times - Perspectives on Strategic Change” brought together leading voices from industry, consulting, and academia.

The panel brought together representatives of two �鶹�� Corporate Partners: Mercedes-Benz Group AG, represented by its CEO Ola Källenius, and Boston Consulting Group, represented by Managing Director and Partner Michael Dahle. They were joined by Prof. Dr. Andreas Herrmann, Director of the Institute for Mobility at the University of St. Gallen and the discussion was moderated by �鶹�� alumna Aleksandra Kjemhus, co-founder and CEO of Black Door Technology.

Together, the panel explored the realities of leading organizations through transformation, sharing perspectives on strategic change, leadership, and the evolving future of mobility in a rapidly changing global environment.

Up Close with Mercedes-Benz

Throughout the day, Mercedes-Benz representatives were also available at an HR booth, providing students with the opportunity to learn more about the company, its culture, and potential professional paths through informal conversations and exchanges.

In addition, a fireside chat moderated by �鶹�� student James Pooler brought together a small and diverse group of students (from bachelor’s to PhD level) for a more personal conversation with Ola Källenius, allowing participants to ask questions and reflect on leadership, career development, and his �鶹�� journey.

Rotterdam Wins Best �鶹�� Club Award filliong Tue, 02/17/2026 - 17:00 Awarded during the �鶹�� Club Conference in Barcelona, �鶹�� Club Rotterdam was named Best �鶹�� Club for Term 1 2025–2026. The three-day gathering also brought together 23 Club Presidents and the Student Board to exchange best practices, align on global priorities and strengthen collaboration across the �鶹�� network. News

From February 12th to 14th 2026, 23 �鶹�� Club Presidents from across the globe and 5 organising members from the Student Board were gathered in person at the Esade Business School in Barcelona. During the two-day conference, the Presidents had the opportunity to have an issue and solution-sharing session, network, discuss best practices and brainstorm on development and collaboration between their local �鶹�� Clubs.

Day 1 – A warm welcome and Corporate Partner Visit

Friday at the �鶹�� Club Conference was buzzing! Local �鶹�� Office and Student Board Reps welcomed the attendees, followed by updates from the Student Board and Executive Team.

Throughout the morning, sessions focused on the �鶹�� structure, Student Board initiatives, and key global topics for 2026, including mental well-being, entrepreneurship, internships, and future-ready skills. Presidents also presented their local clubs, sharing strengths, challenges, and ambitions for the coming months.

In the afternoon, the group visited Gartner for an insightful company session, gaining perspectives on career paths in sales and client service. The day concluded with a traditional tapas dinner in Barcelona, creating space for informal exchanges, collaboration, and stronger cross-club connections.

Day 2 – The �鶹�� Club Awards and Collaborative discussions

The second day focused on global alignment and practical collaboration. Updates from the Global Office covered governance, programme developments, rankings, curriculum changes, and upcoming initiatives, alongside insights from the Corporate Relations and Communications teams and the introduction of the StayingBee community accommodation platform.

This was followed by the long-awaited �鶹�� Club Awards – Best Practice, celebrating outstanding initiatives across clubs and recognizing the overall Best �鶹�� Club.

Full Results (Term 1 25-26): Celebrating Excellence Across the Network

Beyond the overall Best Club recognition, several clubs were acknowledged for their outstanding performance across specific categories, highlighting the diversity of strengths within the �鶹�� network.

Shoutout to all the amazing teams who poured their hearts into building fantastic �鶹�� communities! You've all done incredible work!

In the afternoon, Presidents engaged in structured issue-sharing workshops built around four core discussion tracks:

Financing of Events – fundraising models, alumni contributions, sponsorships, merchandise, and sustainable revenue streams
Cohort Engagement – improving participation, communication strategies, inclusive events, and tools to strengthen community integration
Corporate Partner Integration – building stronger collaboration with partners, skills seminars, workshops, alumni leverage, and career-focused initiatives
Alumni Integration – mentoring, buddy programmes, alumni engagement strategies, and strengthening the lifelong �鶹�� journey

These discussions enabled peer learning, exchange of best practices, and the co-creation of practical solutions to strengthen local clubs and the global �鶹�� ecosystem.

The student voting for �鶹�� Club Awards is now open!

The �鶹�� Club Awards rewards various clubs for their achievements in the semester in different categories. The top 3 �鶹�� Clubs will be celebrated during the �鶹�� Club Conference in Cologne, Germany on October 10th and 11th.

You can vote by going into your Student Portal, where you will find the voting for the �鶹�� Club of the school you attended this term (it can be either your home school or host school).

The �鶹�� Club Awards not only give the �鶹�� Clubs more visibility but also them to share best practices within the community. It allows CC to learn from each other and brings inspiration for the next generation of �鶹��ies.

How does it work?

Student voting. In this part, students assess how the �鶹�� Club of the school they attended performed. This is a crucial step. For a �鶹�� Club to be eligible for the awards, at least 40% of the students at the school must have voted.

There is ONE voting period: June 17th to July 6th
Best practices submission. Once the voting has closed and if the �鶹�� Club has become eligible, they are required to send their best practices in 6 categories: socializing, marketing & communication, alumni relations, corporate relations, corporate social responsibility, and desired. All �鶹�� Clubs eligible are asked to submit their best practices (BPs) by the latest Sunday, 20th of July at 23:59 CEST. Following these deadlines, the �鶹�� Club Support team of the Student Board selects the most inspiring practices in each category. BPs are anonymised and SBRs and the �鶹�� Clubs Presidents cannot vote for their home and exchange universities.
Celebration. The top 3 �鶹�� Clubs will be rewarded and celebrated on social media and during the �鶹�� Club Conference in October 2025. They will receive a complementary money priz.

�鶹�� V4 Conference 2025: Digital Transformation in the Heart of Warsaw shamasha Mon, 05/05/2025 - 11:24 From April 9-11, 2025, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics hosted the annual �鶹�� V4 Conference, bringing together students, experts, and industry leaders for a deep dive into the theme of "Digital Transformation." This event, which rotates each year between Prague, Budapest, and Warsaw, is always an exciting opportunity for participants to connect, learn, and explore the latest trends and challenges in business and technology. News

The conference kicked off on Wednesday with an official opening ceremony. The first highlight was a panel discussion featuring industry experts Adam Wiśniewski, Joanna Żuchowicz, Jan Naruszewicz, and Maciej Hojszyk. They shared their insights on how digital transformation is changing industries and reshaping the way we work, offering a glimpse into the future of business.

After the panel, the evening turned into a lively networking event with fun ice-breaker games and team-building activities. This gave everyone the chance to meet new people, exchange ideas, and start forming connections with fellow participants and professionals.

Thursday was all about skill seminars. Companies like P&G, Kearney, Simon-Kucher, and Santander led interactive workshops on real-world digital transformation challenges. The seminars gave students hands-on experience in digital marketing, strategy development, and innovation, helping them sharpen skills they can apply in their future careers.

After a full day of workshops, participants enjoyed the Rotation Dinner, where they connected with people from different backgrounds and industries in a relaxed, informal setting.

Friday began with mock interviews with Kearney, offering participants the chance to practice their interview skills and get valuable feedback from top consultants. This was followed by the conference's closing ceremony, where everyone reflected on the event’s highlights and shared their experiences. To wrap up the conference, the attendees had one last chance to network before hopping onto party buses and heading to an exclusive after-party for participants, �鶹�� Club Warsaw members, and guests from other �鶹�� Clubs.

The �鶹�� V4 Conference 2025 was a fantastic opportunity to explore digital transformation, develop new skills, and connect with people from around the world. It wasn’t just about learning – it was about creating lasting connections and getting ready for the challenges of tomorrow’s digital economy.

The �鶹�� Global Alumni Week 2025 involved alumni and students through two global events (one webinar and one rotational industry chat) and 20+ local events that spanned five time zones.

Local Events: Celebrating the �鶹�� Spirit Worldwide

Across the globe, the �鶹�� community had various engaging local events like professional networking meet-ups and interactive game nights. In different cities, �鶹��ies had the chance to reconnect, exchange ideas, and celebrate their shared experiences with local cohorts.

The local chapters did an incredible job curating experiences that reflected the diversity and dynamism of the �鶹�� community, ensuring that every participant had new connections and lasting memories with amazing people together.

Being part of the organization of the �鶹�� Alumni Talks in Chile during Global Alumni Week 2025 was an incredible experience. Hearing our alumni share how �鶹�� has shaped not just their careers but also their personal lives reinforced the power of this community. It’s inspiring to see how our network continues to foster lifelong connections, broaden perspectives, and create impact across borders.

Global Events: Uniting the �鶹�� Network

The first global event of the week was an inspiring Global Webinar, where the 2024 �鶹�� Alumni of the Year Award recipients, Marieke Geurts (RSM/ SSE, 2012) and Leonardo Lotto (NUS/ NOVA/ USYD, 2023), shared their career journeys, challenges, and key takeaways from their �鶹�� experience. Attendees gained insights from these distinguished alumni, offering valuable perspectives on professional growth and the impact of the �鶹�� network on their different life stages.

Later in the week, the Rotational Industry Chats provided an interactive platform for �鶹�� students to engage with alumni from diverse industries. Through small-group discussions, students had the chance to seek career advice, explore different professional paths, and build meaningful connections.

Their stories were incredibly inspiring, as they offered unique perspectives from different career stages. I was deeply impressed by their resilience in both professional and personal life, which gave us practical takeaways and a fresh outlook on our growth.

Louvain School of Management (LSM) and the �鶹�� Student Board rolled out the welcome mat, inviting �鶹�� Club Presidents to dive into all things clubs and share their best tips and tricks. News

From February 20th to 22nd 2025, 23 �鶹�� Club Presidents and 5 organising members from the Student Board were gathered in person at the Louvain School of Management (LSM) and 4 �鶹�� Club Presidents joined the meeting online.

During the three-day conference, the Presidents had the opportunity to have an issue and solution-sharing session, network, discuss best practices and brainstorm on development and collaboration between their local �鶹�� Clubs. The Presidents were welcomed on Thurday at the �鶹�� Meet & Greet, bringing together local �鶹�� students, alumni and Corporate Partners

This year’s conference was even more memorable as it marked the return of �鶹�� Clubs Canada, Santiago, Singapore, Sydney and USA, which were previously unable to participate in-person.

Day 1 – A warm welcome and networking session

Friday at the �鶹�� Club Conference was buzzing! Student Board Reps welcomed the attendees, followed by quick introductions from each Club President, setting the stage for collaboration. An informative introduction session with the Local �鶹�� Office followed, and then updates on global developments were provided by Franziska Lukas, a representative of the �鶹�� Student Board Executive Team, and Margaux Berras from the Global Office.In the afternoon, the Presidents explored LSM‘s OpenHub. Following a productive working session, the evening featured an activity and dinner organized in collaboration with Corporate Partner AB InBev. Attendees learned about the company's history, mission, portfolio, and career opportunities.

Day 2 – The �鶹�� Club Awards and Collaborative discussions

The second day was started with the long-awaited �鶹�� Club Awards - Best Practice! These were divided into 6 categories and an overall award for Best �鶹�� Club.

After closing remarks, the Presidents wrapped up the conference with a final dinner together.

Our �鶹��ies are Thriving in Austria morelet- Tue, 02/11/2025 - 16:11 The �鶹�� Waltzing Days 2025, the second biggest Global Event during the �鶹�� year was successfully organized for the twenty-first time in a row by the �鶹�� Alumni Austria and the �鶹�� Club Vienna. News

Over 80 participants from all over Europe came over to Vienna to spend a magical weekend, rich in cultural and social events. For some participants, it was not the first time – �鶹��ies in Vienna were very happy to welcome them again.

This special weekend started on Friday evening with a traditional Austrian dinner with specialties such as Wiener Schnitzel and later continued with drinks in one of the best locations in the city—Wein & Co. in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral! Saturday was genuinely devoted to the ball: first, there was a crash course to learn or refresh the waltzing skills. In 60 minutes, all participants could dance like professionals! After a guided tour, it was time to start the preparations!

All participants met again in the evening for drinks and snacks in a modern restaurant before heading to the emperor's palace - Hofburg. They were all beautiful, dressed up, and in a perfect mood! Seeing the spectacular opening, everybody moved on to the different dancing floors, with music ranging from classical to hits coming back occasionally to our �鶹�� table. Some stayed even till 5 am to dance the final waltz! The brunch on Sunday was an excellent opportunity to meet again and share the experiences of the fantastic night. �鶹�� Local Alumni Chapter Austria and the �鶹�� Club Vienna would like to use this opportunity to invite all of you to the 22nd edition of the �鶹�� Waltzing Days 2026 in January next year (9-11 January 2026 – save the date!). They are preparing a special event and would be happy to welcome you to the heart of Vienna.
